We are excited about the artist that will be joining us at our next pop-up in Chestnut Hill.

J Rudy Lewis

I do not come from a traditional art, craft or design background. My main interest in making pieces for adornment is in the exploration of human culture and history. I have worked in photography, mosaics and handmade books, but only in the designing and making of jewelry have I found a place where all my skills come into focus.
For many years I worked as a bench jeweler, but I found it confining. Why limit myself to certain materials? I love making a variety of work, allowing the differences to inform each other and help all the work grow and evolve.
Some pieces I create are traditional, some not. In the end my obligation is to endow each piece with its own spirit to make it live.

Kristin Swoszowski-Tran of Necessary May Speak and Helix and Hive:

“I drive many miles and sift through dust, dirt and grime to unearth simple, beautiful objects that have tales to tell…
of past lives, current events, and future prospects.
I spend time noticing, wondering, wandering. One never knows when and where something extraordinary will turn up… a barn, a shed, in an abandoned building, buried, washed up on a beach, discarded on the street, in a crumpled up bag in a dark corner of a garage…
I hope to be there to find it.”
Kristin Swoszowski-Tran is a multi-media artist with many interests.  She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art (Painting and Printmaking), where she also studied sculpture, mould-making, welding, and foundry work.  She is a beekeeper and self-described infographics junkie, with a deep connection to science, psychology and natural phenomena.  She has two online Etsy shops:  Helix and Hive and The Necessary May Speak, where some of her vintage/antique found objects and handmade work is also available.  In her spare time, she is learning how to drive draught horse teams in Lancaster County.

Kim Grant – Mockingbird Moon

My earliest memories are those of communing with nature – touching the velvety petals
of a rose for the first time; building a fort under an old lilac bush in which to hide from
my siblings, read and write poetry; picking raspberries in the backyard of our German
immigrant neighbors; staring mesmerized with time seemingly standing still, as ants
maniacally danced inside a peony blossom. I focus my attention on bringing the exterior
world indoors, and communicating my interior world out, using the natural world and
imagery as my language. Building tabletop gardens in which to get lost, making collages
of found objects and taking photographs everyday are ways I commune and share the
beauty and magic I sense, and appreciate, around me everyday.

Stable Tables

Stable Tables: Tables and benches of all sizes and for various uses made from reclaimed wood and/or old barns. I have some tables and benches in-stock, but most are made to your custom size and requirements. I only use hardwoods which are sturdier, last longer and have less shrinkage than soft woods like pine, which most store bought furniture is made from.
